Ridgefield Hockey

Trevor's Hockey "Learn to Skate" class has concluded.  Good times on the rink and some good progress.  All with the excitement of Olympic hockey in Sochi in the background (literally -- on the TV -- in the background).  Caught the U.S. beat Russia in the shootout at the rink!

Skiing

Over President's Day weekend we got Trevor back on the slopes.  First day he had a lesson at Mt. Southington, and then hit the slopes with Daddy.  Amazing progress in one day.  From magic carpet to the lift, to the top of the mountain and his first green slope.  So much fun that we went for more the next day at Mohawk Mountain.  Despite the agonizing President's Day crowd, we had a blast.  Trevor shred the mountain, top to bottom, and did a great job!

Valentine's Day

Trevor likes a good holiday as much as the next person.  OK, more than the next person.  He throws himself into the effort, decorating, planning, making lists.  In the case of Valentine's Day 2014, this was the decor of choice for his bedroom.  One letter per sheet of red construction paper.  Nice effort.

Losing the nap..

As mommy said, "if this girl wants to sleep, she will sleep"!

Trevor-ism

Trevor has had some good ones lately:

"How did you stay up in the air for that long?"

"Science speaking, why do we make footprints in the snow -- solids and liquids solids and liquids..."

"How big is a battlefield?"

Snowy Play

During a break in the snow action we got out some outside toys...

Avery is getting to be quite the big girl.

Ambler Syrup

We tapped a tree and we are emptying sap buckets again!  Sienna came along to lend a hand.  Did you know it takes 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup???

Bucket number 54.

Music Night

On a recent Saturday night, the PJs went on and the instruments came out.  Jamming.

Snow Snow Snow

The snow just keeps coming.  At least one snow day a week for every week this year but one (so far).  Last week we had a bunch of snow, had Jack and Mick and Sienna over all day, which lead to some igloo building.  Trevor was all set to sleep outside so Daddy had to make a safety call.

So we built another igloo -- in the bed.

Rec Basketball Coaching

Trev took the big whistle and coached 5/6 rec hoops again.  Great year, great run.
