NYC Excursion
With the holiday weekend, we made a dash for NYC for a Sunday. We saw the Blue Man Group from the front row "poncho seats" which, to quote Trevor, was "Awesome." Very fun show. Then we had a nice brunch at Phebe's downtown. We drove to midtown and 90 minutes later we were on top of the Empire State Building! Long lines but great views. Then we got a treat at "Eclair" on E.53rd before we headed home. Great day in the city for everyone.
Avery in the wild
Our little girl is getting so grown up. She is kind, thoughtful and loving. Always upbeat and happy.
Christmas at Aunt Annies
Made the drive down on Sunday midday and had a wonderful visit with the family. Teddy came and made friends with Coco. Cousins everywhere. Avery in all her glory as the youngest. Uncle Mac's Bday, a Harlem Globetrotter's game, Kid dinner at Ziki, bubble hockey, basketball, and movies.
Trevor in the Net
After countless games in goal in soccer and lacrosse, at long last Trevor had to go in at goalie in hockey when our goalie was a no-show. Shutout on 4 shots. Or, as Trev would describe it later, 4 "quality saves."
Out with the Outback, in with the Jeep
Daddy hit 155,000 miles in the Outback. Exhaust system was shot, brakes were shot, failed an inspection and the old girl had just had enough. Blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, welcome to the family.
Christmas Cookies
Mom and the kids did it again, producing a phenomenal wave of great cookies for teacher gifts and hostess presents.
Avery's Dance Recital
Poor Avery had a fever the weekend before the Christmas week. She missed school on Friday, her best friend's birthday, the neighborhood holiday party, and her Saturday dance recital. She rallied for the Sunday performance and nailed it!
Christmas in Wilton
Sundae the Elf returned and had some amazing hiding places with a renewed wave of creative energy. We had a lovely tree that died a quick and painless death. And we had lighted reindeer outside to confuse Teddy and light up the night. Beautiful. But no snow.
Trevor Winter Sports
House and some travel hockey, and rec hoops. The rec team is decent and Trevor is playing aggressive style and learning the game. The hockey teams are a mix of a lot of older kids so a good opportunity for Trevor to see how the big boys play the game and work on his skills.
Avery's 8th Party
Avery invited 9 girls over for a "Totally Chill" 8th birthday party that was anything but. Lots of dog balloons, dancing, yelling, and cake.

We headed South, which was lucky because the McLaurins did as well so we were all able to meet up for the Memorial Day Parade in Sharpsburg,...
