Trevor has been working for several months with his Odyssey of the Mind team. This is an exercise in problem solving skill development and working as a team. It has been a great program and Saturday May 18 was the CT finals. Different teams and age groups faced different problems and, as part of the competition, had to perform a play of their own making -- props, script, costumes, acting, and a working robot. Biggest element of Odyssey -- ZERO parental guidance or involvement. All the kids. So it was wonderful, Trevor was a dog. He represented the team later in the day in the closed-door "spontaneous" competition where they had to build a tower as a team with some objects.
Trevor's team, remarkably, came in first place out of 19 teams in his group. First place. They now have the opportunity to go to the Odyssey of the Mind World Championship at Michigan State University in May. Amazing achievement, great work, and really good resolve to stick with it.
Very proud.
